Window on the Word: Focused Expectation

When you expect to receive something, you may be playing a losing game if the expectation is focused on man. Focus implies an active faith. Faithful focus on expecting good from God moves into the realm of certainty. Lord Jesus said to the centurion in Matthew 8:13, "Go thy way; and as thou hast believed (or showed faith in me) so be it done unto you. If the centurion stayed at home, because he did not believe Jesus could do something; his servant's fate would be sealed!!
